Oh, how I enjoy starting my day with a green smoothie! It's refreshing on those mornings when the temperature is already on the rise and I really like knowing that I've indulged in some fresh vegetables, even if it's not so obvious.
Green Smoothie:
1 cup almond milk
Ice
2 heaping handfuls of baby spinach
1 frozen banana
1 T. peanut butter
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Blend until smooth, pour into a cold glass, and sprinkle with coconut shreds.
Along with the smoothie, I also had a toasted mini multi-grain bagel with almond butter and an organic nectarine, perfectly ripe!
A great start to the day - nutritious and colorful!
What color is your day?
My day is purple! I love my fruit smoothies in the morning! 1 (fresh) banana, some tofu, about a cup of OJ, six frozen strawberries and 1/3 cup frozen blueberries & 1 teaspoon of my powdered vitamin = my perfect purple smoothie! ;-) Have a great, green day!

If it's the color of the first thing I drank this morning, my day is black (like the cup of Ethiopian coffee from Calvin Fletcher's this morning).

Hey, Denise - I went all the way to north Fort Collins yesterday to see if I could get a loaf of that bread you showed the other day - I took a printed copy, looked over all the breads, had the lady help me, and finally found what is called "SEEduction" bread - is that what they call it in Indiana? It had a bit of a different shape, and has yeast instead of sour dough. But it is YUMMY - I have to be very careful now to not too many slices in a day - I don't know the calorie count, but am guessing 100 calories per slice, to be safe.
